This hotel is in a lovely setting and is very quiet and tranquil, exuding character and charm. The quality of the food is excellent, both for an evening meal and at breakfast. We were surprised to read some of the lower star reviews posted on here as our experience was very good and the hotel does not deserve many of these comments. The plumbing might be adequate rather than state-of-the-art, but this is to be expected in a building of this age and size. All facilities are very clean. We would have no hesitation in recommending the Heritage Grange as a place to stay when visiting the area.

Me and my Husband booked a log cabin, this was the first time we have been back since 2022. £153 for a night with breakfast seemed quite high considering it was only a night. Lovely gentleman in the reception for the key handover, he was very polite and soft spoken. The cabin has the beautiful view of the large garden and with the lights all around, it was a beautiful sight. The cabin was okay, slightly outdated, the sofa was very low. We had slight stains on the white bedding so, it was easily noticeable. One of the lights was flickering constantly but overall, the bathroom was very clean, shower was great, the bed was comfy. The breakfast was straight forward, a small menu but good choices; my scrambled eggs were orange and very wet so it wasn't great but the rest of the plate was beautifully cooked. Only thing that could be beneficial is if the room had an iron and hair dryer like other hotels but the visit itself was very good, beautifully quiet and just what you need for a little break - we will definitely be coming again and will try dining with them next time. The only staff member was the man at reception and he was in credibly polite and professional.

Location is quiet, the garden is lovely. Being a business trip I get only the least costly room, so my assessment is not representative, I think there are nicer rooms. The staff do their best for you and look after you well. The building is characterfull and has patina. There is plenty of parking. Did I say the staff are lovely? Breakfast is excellent, and there is a good dinner menu with tasty well presented freshly cooked items. The bar closes at 21:30 and is well stocked.
